Tour of Britain 2017 final stage

The Tour of Britain finished in Cardiff today. We spent the morning with Whitchurch Cycling Club, who did small family group rides along the Taff Trail to Hailey Park and back.

We used the Cyclehome as a base and set up the awning and a table to register all the riders who were taking part.

Later on at King Edward VII Avenue, the Club took part in Welsh Cycling's finish line team pursuit racing and all the young riders got on the official Tour of Britain podium for their prize presentation.

Before we watched the stage finish, there was a tour of the Team Sky for some of the young riders, which they absolutely loved.

We then went back to the finish line to watch the end of the stage – the speed at which the riders are cycling is incredible! Proper blink-and-you’ll-miss-it fast!

After the race had finished, back at the Team Sky bus, some of the riders very kindly came out to chat to, sign things and have their photos taken with the members of the Club.

On Monday morning, we were included in Maindy Flyers Homecoming event, where Team Sky brought the bus, Owain Doull and Geraint Thomas to train with the children and then have a question and answer session before more autographs and photos.
